There is no better feeling than smoking your first brisket and having it turn out better that just edible. This easy smoked brisket recipe is perfect for us grilling newbies.
Although this post was written with a pellet grill in mind. The recipe can be transferred to an offset smoker a kettle grill or a green egg style smoker. Keep in mind this is easy smoked brisket. The other smokers mentioned take much more effort to maintain temperature.
Easy Smoked Brisket Recipe
ingredients:
- Brisket (Packer Cut)
- Coarse ground kosher salt
- Coarse ground black pepper
- Granulated garlic
Directions:
- Trim the fat cap down to about 1/4 inch thick.
- remove as much of the hard fat as possible wothout destroying the brisket*
- Seaon Geneously with salt pepper and garlic on all sides.**
- Let rest for 15 to 30 minutes for the seasoning to penetrate the meat.
- Preheat smoker to 225°F
- Smoke Brisket until internal temp. reaches 160°F
- Wrap tightly in heavy duty foil and smoke until internal temp. reaches 200°
- remove from smoker and let rest for at least 1 hour.
- Slice and enjoy.
