Charcoal vs gas grills. Which do you prefer? I have always prefered charcoal over gas. In this short post I will explain why.
First let me say that I don’t have anything against gas grilling. “Some of my best friends are gas grillers.”(chuckle chuckle) Okay enough with the funny stuff. Let’s get into why I prefer charcoal over gas. I’ll try to keep this short and sweet.
Charcoal grilled food has a flavor that just can’t be produced with a gas grill. And if that was the only reason to use charcoal that would be enough for me. I really enjoy the flavors of charcoal grilled foods especially those that are done low and slow. They just seem to absorb that smokey taste. Even Burgers and Hot Dogs taste better when grilled with charcoal. Need I say more? Well this was nice, so until next time. Just kidding. I’ve got a couple more reasons to choose charcoal.
We all know that we have to clean our grill after we use it, or at least before we use it again. I don’t want this task to be a chore or over complicated. What I do want is simple easy cleaning. I don’t want to have to remove and clean valves, hoses, burners, knobs etc. I’m sure you get the picture. See cleaning your charcoal grill. For simple tips on cleaning your grill.
The cost of a gas grill is usually much higher than that of a charcoal grill, although there are some pretty pricey charcoal grills out there. On average a gas grill will cost you about $50. 00 to $100.00 more. I am going to assume that you can add in the cost of replacement parts for your gas grill. Although they are not terribly expensive, usually around $20 to $30 for the normal burners heat plates and the like. Keep in mind that the less expensive parts will most likely need replacing more often. I could probably go into more detail about the cost breakdowns and so forth, but I won’t.I just want to keep it simple. Because this is Easy Charcoal Grilling.
I’m sure there are probably thousands of articles on the internet about this subject. All with legitimate arguments for either side and lots of technical jargon and data to back them up. I’ve tried both charcoal and gas. But in the end the only thing that matters is what you prefer and I prefer charcoal grilling. Which do you prefer and why? Tell me below in the comments section.
I hope this helped you out,
As always

Happy Grilling!!!
